Happy Birthday Edgar Allan Poe

January 19, 1809, Boston MA - October 7, 1849 Baltimore MD

Born in Boston Massachusetts, on this day in 1809, Edgar Allan Poe is one of the more recognized authors across the globe. While his death in Baltimore on October 7, 1849 still remains a mystery.

He is best known for his tales of the macabre, and poems. He also was one of the early writers of the short story, detective fiction, and crime fiction in the United States.

I have visited the Poe museum in Richmond Virginia, Philadelphia Pennsylvania and Baltimore Maryland, it is still amazing to see such artifacts, hand written letters or poems among other items in the museums.

In recognition of his birthday celebration, I am posting an image I designed to a friends poem. She wrote the poem several years ago in honor of his birthday. We collaborated on the design and had fun creating it.

Do you have any favorites of his writings? Please feel free to comment.

Happy Birthday Edgar Allan Poe!

I thought it to be very interesting, since I like Poe. Both readers enhanced each story they read.

Authors I enjoy.

Here are some links to authors I enjoy.  Lovecraft and Poe are similar, while Brautigan is a totally different genre of writing. There were many times I would spend an hour or two reading their works or listening to them on audio books, via the internet.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
