The Long Island Ducks were shut out 7-0 in game 2 on Wednesday, October 2 2019 by Sugar Land Skeeters. The series is now even at one game a piece.
Darin Downs was the starter for the Ducks and Skeeters starter was Carlos Pimentel.
The Skeeters were put on the scoreboard and took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, A two-out, two-run throwing error in the second extended the visitors’ lead to five. The Skeeters went on to add single runs in the third and sixth innings on two-out RBI singles from Zach Borenstein and Javier Betancourt.
The Ducks bats were pretty much lifeless during the game and could not pose a threat to Skeeter pitchers at all.
The best of five series continues Friday, October 4, 2019 in Sugar Land Texas at EDT at Constellation Field. First pitch slated for 7:35 p.m.
Pitching match up that night is right-hander Seth Simmons (8-8, 3.86) for the Ducks against Skeeters righty Troy Scribner (6-7, 3.68).
