This is from a very good friend, who has pancreatitis:
“November is Pancreatic Disease Awareness Month.
This disease often goes unnoticed & undiagnosed, acute attacks are sudden and can be brutal but will heal up and with proper diet and care you can go back to normal.
Chronic unfortunately is forever, can you imagine living in a body that is actually digesting itself alive?!
Can you imagine living in a body that is destroying itself?!
Its terrifying but unfortunately it is realty for some ppl, a daily reality…a reality made worse when were told “you are lying, its indigestion, you want attention”.
In the ER we are made to feel like junkies because we ask for meds to take away the screaming, searing & unrelenting pain, we are given fluids, Tylenol and then poked and prodded, worse than lab rats or just plain ignored until all we can do is pray for the sweet release of blacking out from the pain only to have our bodies take us to that limit and ease off just enough to keep us awake..This disease often goes unnoticed & undiagnosed.. Scary thought isn’t it?”
It is such a shame she is suffering and is having trouble paying some bills. I assist when I can. Watching someone, especially someone you love, go through this is very uncomfortable. I just wish there was a way for her to get more money and that I was able to assist her more financially, yet she is so grateful that I am in her life and am there for her when can be.
This is my friend about 2012

I hope she is doing better.
