The Long Island Ducks faced the Sugerland Skeeters for the Atlantic League Championship final best of 5 series yesterday and lost 5-3, giving the Skeeters a three game sweep over the Ducks.
The Liberty Division Series was very exciting, with the Ducks winning the last three games to capture the title 3 games to two. Somerset is a very tough team to beat and the Ducks had many players that came through in the clutch to help win it over one of the leagues better teams.
While a sad moment for fans of the Ducks, it was not a disappointing season. They did well in the first half:

The second half was not as impressive, as new players were acquired and given opportunity to play and prove themselves, while management was working on a new techniques and establishing a new and even better line up. It didn’t pan out, yet it worked out enough to have the Ducks get ready for the Somerset Patriots in the Liberty Division Series. The Ducks had already earned a spot for the series by winning the first half.
