The Ducks became the 2016 Liberty Division Champions, in the Atlantic League, tonight by beating The Somerset Patriots three games to two.
The Ducks are only the second team to come from behind. after losing the first 2, to win the next 3. The Somerset Patriots were the first to do so.
The Ducks will go on to play The Sugarland Skeeters next week.

The Long Island Ducks will face the Somerset Patriots this week, starting September 21 2016. The series starts in Somerset, NJ on Wednesday September 21 and September 2016, with the Ducks hosting the final three games September 23-25.
After Clinching the Liberty Division in the first half of the season, the Ducks found themselves struggling very much during the second half. With many new arrivals, especially in the pitching department, the Ducks found themselves in dire straits. The acquisitions were trying diligently to work themselves into the rotation, while offense and defense were working out kinks around the base paths. Things seemed to have jelled some what towards the very end of the season and hopefully the Ducks will find their starting nine to clinch another championship season.
The Somerset Patriots have always been a very tough and competitive team over the years in The Atlantic League and the Long Island Ducks will continue to put their best nine on the field to win against them.
Good luck, Long Island Ducks, in the drive for the Championship!

original poem by alexi1872
When I went to bed last night, my last thought was of you.
When I woke up this morning, my first thought was of you.
You are my everything; my sun, my stars, my sky.
You are my everything… and this is the reason why:
For when we met it was fate, fate from the soul within.
For when we met it was choice, choice to be your friend.
For when we first laughed together, I knew it was meant to be.
For when I fell in love, I knew you had fallen in love with me.
You are my everything, my breath belongs to you.
You are my everything, hold these words to be true.
You are my everything
and I’ll always love you…
and whats more
I know you’ll always love me too.
It struck me as coincidence that I have a good friend that I have felt that way about.
Here is an image I came up with:
I went to a Long Island Ducks baseball game today. The Ducks won their final home game by a score of 5-3. It was a wonderful game.
Prior to the game, both the Long Island Ducks and York Revolution teams took hold of a huge United States of America flag, to have a moment of silence for the lives lost on September 11 2001. It was very emotional.
Nick Struck was the winning pitcher.
